FUNERAL IN SENEGAL OF MR PATHÉ DIONE

Mr Pathé DIONE, Founder and President of the SUNU Group, passed away on Thursday 12th January 2023 in his 81st year. The burial took place in Dakar on Saturday 14th January 2023 in the presence of his family, friends, collaborators, partners and many officials.
The funeral began with the raising of the body at the "hôpital Principal" in Dakar in the presence of the Chief Executive Officer, the two Deputy Chief Executive Officers of the Group, the Chairmen of the Boards of Directors, the Managing Directors of the companies and entities and the staff who had come to accompany the President for the final journey.
Also present were several Senegalese government officials, including two former Prime Ministers, the Chief of Staff, General of the Armed Forces, accompanied by two Generals, and the Director General of Public Accounts and the Treasury.
The insurance sector was represented by representatives of FANAF (Federation of African National Insurance Companies) and CIMA (Inter-African Conference of Insurance Markets), presidents and members of associations of insurance companies from Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire, general managers of insurance companies, banks and partner companies from several countries.
Following the various speeches, the religious guide closed the ceremony with a testimony on the deceased and prayers for the repose of his soul. The different delegations then went to the funeral prayer at the Grand Mosque of Mermoz followed by the burial at the Muslim cemetery of Yoff.
May his soul rest in peace and may his legacy remain.
